Our Positions

Human Resources Generalist

The Human Resources Generalist will oversee HR functions within the organization, ensuring the effective management of employee relations, talent acquisition, health & safety, benefits, and compliance with Federal employment laws. The HR Generalist will play a key role in fostering a fast paced, growth organization.

Responsibilities

• Partner with clients to drive proactive employee relations
• Support delivery and deployment of HR programs (may be current or in development) and processes and participate in coaching and guiding in functional and cross-functional initiatives (Performance Management, Compensation, Succession Planning, Engagement Survey, and the Performance Review Cycle)
• Manage full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, background checks, facilitating onboarding, and develop recruitment strategies.
• Provide guidance, direction, and advice to the client regarding employment related issues including but not limited to the interpretation of Federally legislated laws and Company policies & procedures, attendance management, recruitment & selection strategy, performance management, investigations, terminations, strategic planning, and training & development.
• Partner with operations in meeting regulatory reporting requirements, supporting incident investigations and implementing resulting corrective actions.
• Work directly with operations to implement and maintain health and safety operating procedures
• Promote a safe and healthy environment and support the management of WSIB, STD and LTD cases and return to work programs.
• Anticipate barriers to success and facilitates proactive resolution that supports a performance driven culture.
• Use judgment supported by human resource acumen and practical experience to escalate matters as required.
• Contribute to continuous improvements & best practices to influence human resources strategies.
• Ensure that the interests of employees and company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable government laws and regulations.
• Will be the key point of contact for any Privacy compliance questions and resulting responses
• Demonstrate and live our Corporate Values in everyday decisions.
• Act as a point of contact for employees’ questions.

Qualifications

• Hold a college diploma or a certificate in HR and/or administration.
• At least 3-5 years of HR experience
• Good knowledge of HR laws and regulations of Federal labour standards
• Fluency in the French language, bilingualism an asset (French and English).
• Ability to maintain good interpersonal skills and demonstrate professionalism and discretion.
• Ability to interact with all levels of the organization with comprehensive consultative, partnering, facilitating, and influencing/negotiating skills.
• Strong integrity with ability to maintain confidentiality and manage highly sensitive information.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Very good knowledge of MS – Office software
• Strong organizational, problem-solving and priority management skills.
• Must be able to travel to various work locations within Canada
• Highly motivated, self-starter
• Valid driver’s licence
• Experience working in the transportation industry is an asset
