Transportation Manager – Montreal

Join our team !

We are a dynamic and rapidly growing company specializing in temperature-controlled transport. In a constantly changing environment, we are looking for an experienced Transport Manager who is results-oriented and capable of making strategic decisions quickly.

Your mission :
To manage and optimize transport operations to ensure reliable, cost-effective, and high-quality service, while maintaining smooth communication with all internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Main responsibilities :

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily transportation operations with salaried drivers and brokers.
• Negotiate rate agreements with carriers and brokers, while ensuring compliance with contractual commitments.
• Optimize routes, schedules, and resource utilization to improve service profitability and efficiency.
• Evaluate the performance of brokers and drivers, and implement corrective action plans as needed;
• Manage emergencies, delays, and unforeseen events in real time to minimize the impact on service;
• Track deliveries and pickups, ensure traceability and compliance with deadlines;
• Work closely with internal departments (customer service, warehouse, logistics, etc.) to ensure consistent and smooth service delivery;
• Ensure compliance with safety, transportation regulations, and quality standards;
• Analyze performance results (KPIs) and develop strategies for continuous improvement;
• Prepare and present management reports to senior management.

Qualifications

Requirements :

• Significant experience (minimum 3 to 5 years) in transport operations management, ideally in a temperature-controlled environment;
• Experience negotiating with brokers and carriers;
• Excellent knowledge of logistics, roads, and the territory (Quebec, an asset);
• Proficiency in transportation management software (TMS, Excel, etc.);
• Strong organizational, planning, and priority management skills;
• Solid leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills;
• Bilingualism (French and English) required, both spoken and written.
